Halloween Projects

As I mentioned in my last post I have been busy finishing projects for my son's Halloween class party. Every went well but I did not have time to prepare my usual scrapbook video tutorial. However, I have something else to share with you. Here are some pictures of some of the items I was working on.

These are the toppers I designed for the treat bags.
I printed my design then cut up the sheet into
squares then scored and folded them. My son wanted
glitter on the webs so I added silver stickles.

These are the diecuts I designed using skelanimals characters.
It took me quite a while to assemble all the pieces for 25 bags.
Skelanimals are unique irresistibly cute 'skeleton' animals.
Click here to visit their website.

This is what one of the finished projects looked like.

As a class parent helper one of my tasks was to have trick or treat bags for all the students in his class which brings me to this next project.

Pink Mini for the Cure

Hey guys,

I was busy getting ready for my son's Halloween party and finishing a very special mini album so I was unable to design a layout sketch for this week. Everything will be back on track next week.

Many of you may know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Well, Laura from The Paper Trail organized a mini scrap book challenge and will be holding a silent auction of which all the proceeds will go to the Susan G. Komen for a Cure Foundation through their Passionately Pink for a Cure event program.

Click the image for more information.

To promote the auction Laura will be giving away some blog candy. You can add a link on your blog to this post or to Laura's blog at www.followingthepapertrail.blogspot.com. You can also spread the word by sending emails to your friends and family. For a chance to win the blog candy all you have to do is leave a comment on Laura's blog letting her know what you are doing to promote the auction. Earn 2 EXTRA entries by making a donation at the Pink Mini's for the Cure event website. There are multiple prizes so be sure to check it out.

The photographs of the mini's will be posted on Laura's blog on Halloween day, October 31st, and the silent auction will begin. Be sure to include the link to Laura's blog when you share this event. Bidding will end at 6 pm Pacific Time on November 7th. High bidders will be notified after November 7th and the winners will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation's "Passioantely Pink for a Cure" website to make the donation in the amount of the bid. The winners will receive the mini from the creator as a thank you for their donation.

Here is a sneak peak of the pink mini I created.

Thank you for stopping by!

FREE SVG Monday: Fall Feelings

Hello Scrapbookers!

As I was running errands today I could not help but notice that the trees were almost bare and the leaves were just blowing around. The colors looked so beautiful and so I was inspired to design these leaves. It would look great on your fall cards or scrapbook pages. Enjoy!

[Tip] Used a pen to draw veins that would appear on a real leaf.

[Tip] Cut out your shapes using white cardstock then use Copic markers to blend colors for a one of a kind creation.

[Tip] Cut out the leaves using transparency then use Ranger alcohol inks to make custom colored leaves.

Scrapbook Video Tutorial 10-23-09

Hello Scrapbookers!

Hello Kitty has always been an inspiration to me. I introduced her to my baby sister and even though my daughter is only 18 months old I have already started surrounding her with Hello Kitty. Today marks the beginning of Hello Kitty's 35th Anniversary celebration. So, I am celebrating by making a Hello Kitty layout. I have given her a pink flower which means cute and because the photos are of my daughter's first birthday she also has green ribbon which signifies wish.

Today's layout features designer paper: Fancy pants - celebrate collection, Gypsy/Cricut Expression(Provo Craft) - Hello Kitty Greetings cartridge; George basic shapes font cartridge, Crystal Stickers, Ranger - Icicle and Diamond Stickles; Glossy Accents.  I hope you enjoy this week's video!

FREE SVG Monday: Batty Business

Hello Scrapbookers!

Halloween is right around the corner and you may want to decorate, make treat bags or any other creative activities. Here is an SVG that's so simple but can make a big difference on your project.

[Tip]To make it even more dramatic cut out the bat then cut a circle out of a yellow or off white piece of paper that is bigger than the bat. Place the bat on the circle cut out and it looks like the bat is flying with the moon in the background.

[Tip]Cut bats at different sizes to add interest. Enjoy!

FREE SVG Monday: Creepy Crawly Spider

Hello Scrapbookers!

I know I did some Halloween designs a while back but I was designing some Halloween items for my son's class party and decided to design this spider for this week's free SVG.  This SVG is all connected but you can just snip the line that connects the spider to the web if you would like it separated. And of course googly eyes are awesome for the spider. This would look great on a card or a scrapbook page. Enjoy!

Hello Scrapbookers!

I love scrapbooking but I can get pretty messy. So, I decided to do some organizing and tidy up my craft area. In the process I came across some photographs I had never seen before. Tim Holtz - Word Stick (Love) , Gypsy (Provo Craft) - Sans Serif font cartridge; George and Basic Shapes font cartridge, Prima - Crystals, Stamps: Heidi Swapp - Clocks; Technique Tuesday - Ali Edwards Favorite Memories, Embossing Powder: American Crafts Zing - black and clear.

I know many of you have gotten the Provo Craft Gypsy. In this week's tutorial I'll show you how to group and merge items. Enjoy!

FREE SVG Monday: Glasses

Hello Scrapbookers!

A while back I wanted to add some glasses to a layout I was doing. I looked everywhere but could not find something that I liked so I designed my own. This is a modified version of the one I originally created. This would be great for an eye exam layout or just to show off the latest trend of the nerd glasses. The sky is the limit! Let your imagination soar and create something special.
